چکیده

We report that fluorescent carbon nanodots (Cdots) can act as an optical probe for quantifying Sn(II) ions in aqueous solution. C-dots are synthesized by carbonization and surface oxidation of preformed sago starch nanoparticles. Their fluorescence is significantly quenched by Sn(II) ions, and the effect can be used to determine Sn(II) ions. The highest fluorescence intensity is obtained at a concentration of 1.75 mM of C-dots in aqueous solution. The probe is highly selective and hardly interfered by other ions. The quenching mechanism appears to be predominantly of the static (rather than dynamic) type. Under optimum conditions, there is a linear relationship between fluorescence intensity and Sn(II) ions concentration up to 4 mM, and with a detection limit of 0.36 μM.

An amine/imine functionalized microporous MOF as a new fluorescent probe exhibiting selective sensing of Fe3+ and Al3+ over mixed metal ions

Nowadays metal-organic frameworks with multiple luminescent centers are very fascinating as multifunctional luminescent material because of their luminescence properties, which could be systematically tuned by deliberate use of organic ligands and metal ions. In this research, we explored a microporous mixed-ligand MOF for highly selective and sensitive detection of metal ions. A two-fold inter...

Sn (II) Ion- Selective Membrane Electrode based on Dibenzo-18-Crown-6

We found that dibenzo-18-crown-6 (DB18C6) can be used as an ionophore to make a tin (II)-ionselectivemembrane electrode. The electrode exhibits a near Nernstian response for Sn2+ ions over aconcentration range from 1.0× 10-6 – 1.0× 10-2 M with a slope of 27.5 ± 0.6 mV per concentration decadein an acidic solution (pH=1). The limit of detection was 8.0× 10-7 M. It has a response time of < 20s an...

Hybrid carbon source for producing nitrogen-doped polymer nanodots: one-pot hydrothermal synthesis, fluorescence enhancement and highly selective detection of Fe(III).

Polymer nanodots (PNDs) from a hybrid carbon source (glucose and glycine) which exhibit a stronger fluorescence than the PNDs from a single source (glucose or glycine) are obtained by one-pot hydrothermal treatment. It is attractive that PNDs can be used as an effective fluorescent probe for the detection of iron ions with good selectivity and sensitivity in an aqueous solution.

Chemically-Modified Activated Carbon with L-Arginine for Selective Solid Phase Extraction and Preconcentration of Metal Ions

In this study, a new sorbent of chemically-modified activated carbon with L-arginine (AC-Arg) has been produced as solid-phase extraction, to trace Zn(II) and Cd(II) ions in real samples, including soil and water samples, by Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (FAAS). Once the surface coverage value is determined, the surface modification has been investigated and assessed, while having em...
